My Domestika course is finally here! Impressionist Painting with Acrylics
If you've ever wanted to paint in an Impressionistic style then here's the online treat for you. This course is incredibly in depth beginning with a brief history of Impressionism to examples of the artists and their techniques. We'll be painting using acrylics so there's a run down of the pro and cons of the medium along with the colours and brushes I use. There will be exercises in mark making, how you load a brush, the pressures you apply and the relevance of directional brush marks. We will be adding colour to a b/w image and trying out simple optical colour mixing as used by the Impressionists. This leads to the main project where we will paint a sunny cafe scene and I'll walk you through almost every brush stroke applied. We'll build up using blocks of colour to defining with precise detail. Having created your masterpiece there's also tips of framing and presenting your work with insights into being a full time artist. By the end of the course you'll be confident in the marks you apply, the colours you mix and the artist you want to be.
